Michael Burke

Executive Director, Pathways to Hope for Children

Michael Burke is the Executive Director of Pathways to Hope for Children, Shasta County’s Child Abuse Prevention Coordinating Council. In this role, Michael oversees the non-profit that is dedicated to increasing hope and addressing child abuse, childhood trauma and child maltreatment. The Pathways to Hope for Children’s mission is To promote a local culture that values all children and families. Our programs include: Parent Partner that help strengthen families using evidence-based programs, Road 2 Resilience Parent Partners that work with pregnant women with substance abuse histories, Launch strives to improve kindergarten attendance by providing Parent Partners in the classroom, Camp HOPE America Pathways, and direct services to teens at the Anderson Teen Center. Our agency focuses on the power of hope to create pathways to strength and healing.

Previously Michael worked for Alliance for HOPE International and he traveled around the country developing Camp HOPE America, (a camping program for children that have been exposed to family violence), providing technical assistance to communities starting co-located service center for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault and training professionals on strangulation assaults.

Michael founded the Shasta Family Justice Center and help create One SAFE Place in Shasta County, CA. Early in his professional life, he was a photojournalist for the Redding Record Searchlight.

Alexis Ross

Director of Community Health, Dignity Health’s North State Market

Alexis Ross is the Director of Community Health for Dignity Health’s North State Market, which includes Mercy Medical Center Redding, Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, located in Red Bluff.

Alexis holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Data Analytics.  She is a 19-year healthcare professional with experience in healthcare community benefit regulatory requirements, community health programs and services, and strategic planning. She also has expertise in the review and interpretation of population health data as it relates to the design and implementation of project monitoring strategies to help ensure that each North State Hospital fulfills its charitable obligations through community benefit in the most cost effective and sustainable manner.
